Hola Everyone,

We hope your having a great summer and enjoying family time, vactions and warm weather.
Its amazing how fast this year has flown by and here it is Sept. lst.  For those of you in the US
and Canada I guess it is a long weekend coming up - Labour Day weekend - I remember it well
- all the hustle and bustle of getting children ready for school and also when we had a school,
preparing for the first day and getting everything painted and cleaned. But that was another
chapter in our lives - now we are coming up to 5 years here in Costa Rica.  Yes - in November
it will be 5 years since moving here and learning Spanish and meeting so many new people
from so many different places.  What a journey -  and it continues.

This past month we were able to take part in a special clinic put on by the brother of our local
Dr. here in town. Jason oversees more than  70 clinics a year here in Central America.
Doctors, dentists and vetrinarians come into a community for a few days, set up and give free
medical, dental and vet appts. to as many as possible.  It was truely amazing at how organized
they were and all the equipment they had.  The team was made up of students from Canada,
the States  and maybe even a couple from Europe and there were professional doctors, vets
and dentists from Costa Rica to work with them.  They spent two days in our town of Playas del
Coco pulling teeth, consulting with patients and giving out medications as well as neutering
cats and dogs and freely giving of their time and expertise; and then the group  travelled up
to Martina Bustos to hold a clinic there for l day.  For those of you who have been down to
Costa Rica  this is where Pastor Juan Zepeda and Sandra have established a church, and
many of  the teams that have come from Canada as well as our english church  have gone to
minister and help out in this needy  area. The english church ""Hope Fellowship"helped to
serve the staff on the team  refreshments as well as the people who were waiting in line.
Monday and Tuesday we had cookies, juice, coffee and pastries to give out and Wednesday
the ladies in the english church  prepared lunch for the 50 people who made up  the team, as
well as many others. It was a huge blessing to the people who live in Martina Bustos - and
Jason - the leader of the team, wants to come back again - maybe in December to do a 3 day
clinic up there.  The big surprise of the day was that Pastor Juan Zepeda was back and was
waiting for everyone to arrive.  He and his wife Sandra arrived back in Costa Rica just the day
before and he was sitting in a chair with a huge smile on his face when we arrived.  What a
wonderful surprise.

Many of you have been praying for Pastor Juan as he had brain surgery back in June and it
was not sure how things would turn out for him.  The doctors had performed this surgery
twice before and both patients had died.  But Juan Zepeda knows, and we all know, that he is
alive  to bring glory and honor to the Lord, to display God's goodness and to continue the
physiotherapy here each week - so we are thrilled that he is back and is alive and doing so
well.  He does have some feeling back on his side that was paralyzed and the doctors say that
in time more should return.

We thank you Foursquare Gospel Church of Canada for your prayers, your support and your
vision for Missions around the world - It is a joy to be able to serve here and to see the hand
of the Lord ministering to so many

Please pray that we continue to have strength, zeal and wisdom for the coming months.  Also
we almost have our residency - so please pray that we can get this completed.  We just had
our pictures taken - hopefully so that they can make up our card - if all goes well we can pick
up our card in 15 or so days.  Then we need to begin to pay into their medical system here
each month - our residency is good for 2 years in which time we then need to renew it.  What
a process this has been - but we are almost there.
It amazes me to see how the Lord is able to grow a church. We started with a small group  in a
small community called La Isleta where we had meetings on the porch of a dear lady called
Isabela in 2008. When we outgrew the porch, the Lord provided a larger home across the
street and now we are meeting in a beautiful facility in the downtown core of Filadelfia.
There is something very special about meeting under a mango tree next to a sugar cane field.
I know that our children appreciate the blessing of meeting in a real classroom on Sunday
mornings but hope they never forget the beauty and simplicity of learning about God in the
middle of His beautiful creation.

The Beausejour Team
We were blessed to have a team
come down from the Beausejour,
Community Church in Manitoba,
Canada.  The team, led by pastor
Chris & Liza Jordan, was on their
second mission trip to Costa Rica
.
We had a great action packed
week as this team came to partner
with us in the five spanish
churches that we are getting
established, as well as, street
ministry and reaching out to the
guys at a rehab centre.  They came
well prepared with children's
songs, crafts and stories to bless
the many children we are working
with. Each team member also
shared their testimonies while
pastor Chris preached about
facing the storms of life and, like
Peter, getting out of the boat.
It was wonderful to see a team so
willing to contribute and serve.
They provided all the paint, inside
and out for our new facility in
Filadelfia and had no problem in
getting their hands dirty and faces
covered with drywall dust.
Thank you, Beausejour team, for
helping us out in the work of the
ministy here in Costa Rica. You
were a great blessing.
