Behold, I
say to you
lift up your
eyes and
look at the
fields, for
they are
already
white for
harvest.

                                                                      "Finding one's purpose with God
can be a strange and mysterious
journey; or, it can be as plain as
asking God for a task and then
watching your desire for that task
grow within you. Problem is, most
of us forget to ask God to fill us
with a fervent spirit to serve Him.
Then, years later, we wake up and
realize we had our life. We made
                                                                        our choices....our safe choices;
                                                                        but, somehow, we missed the
                                                                        richness of following our God
                                                                        down an uncharted path."

Mission Opportunities (Suggestions)

Ministry opportunities:  Most importantly we will work alongside of local Costa
Rican church members.  We also have several church plants in a humble
barrios that teams can help us with.  Ministry opportunities will vary with
regards to the gift mix of each group coming.

Practical
•        Serve the community through beach cleanup
•        Bring a digital camera and printer to take photos for Nicaraguan workers
or school children or the people in the barrio that we are working in.
We have opportunities for help with construction projects if the team has
members who would like to be involved in this type of ministry.
•     Bring a supply of  reading glasses (numbered) to give out to the many
people down here who can not afford to go to an optical store.

Evangelism
•        Door to door ministry in some of the needy areas.  Make up supply bags to
give out along with new testaments and gospel literature, salvation bracelets.
Be open to pray for people’s needs: healing the sick, setting the captives free
and simply doing what Jesus and His disciples did.
•        Drama/music presentation/testimonies in the downtown square and/or
some of the areas that we are working in. Again, be open to pray for people.
•        Show Jesus DVD or other Spanish speaking Christian DVD’s in some of
the barrios we are working in.
•     We have lots of opportunities for children's ministry - VBS etc.
•     Open air meetings - crusades
•     Street ministry: One of our assistant pastores does ministry with the street
people that we can involve ourselves in.

Accomodation:  We can arrange for 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, A/C, fully equipped
condos that would house 4 to 5 people. We can get them for "about" $10 -
$12/person/day.  Most of the condos have one bedroom with a queen size bed
and another with two singe beds and usually a pull out coach in the living room.
They also come with a fully equipped kitchen and of course a swimming pool.

Tourism: Take a scenic tour to Costa Rica’s active volcano “Arenal” and stay
for two nights at the Los Lagos resort. http://www.hotelloslagos.com  $110.00
/person for 2 nights two people per room.  We have lots of beaches to visit and
opportunities for surfing, horseback riding, and ziplining. There is also a river
tour available that will give you a great view of exotic birds, monkeys and
crocodiles: approx. $75.00/person which includes transportation and good
lunch.

Ground transportation while in Costa Rica: This depends upon the size of the
team. I have a 7 passenger vehicle and are looking to purchase another 12
passenger vehicle which should be on the road by December 09. There are also
lots of car rental agencies available if needed.

Costs:  Your cost will depend upon your airfare and how many days you will be
staying.  We expect teams to look after their own accomodations and meals plus
gasoline for transportation.

Projects: It is always a blessing to be able to give basic food supplies like rice
and beans and/or health kits to some of the very needy areas that we will be
ministering.  If your church would like to raise any money for this, your team can
purchase supplies when they get down here and then we can take you to needy
areas where we are working for your team members to help with the distribution.
If your team would like to help out with construction projects we always
have churches to build or renovate.  Simply let me know and we can give you
some more details.
